About Me

Tara McClellan is a violin, viola, cello, double bass and general music teacher in the Northwest Indianapolis area. Her desire to start a private music studio stems from her own love of music at an early age. She has always seen great value in private and small group lessons and she would like to be able to serve students and families in the Northwest Indianapolis area and beyond.

Tara graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music Education where she continued to refine my own musical skills while also learning how to teach music to all ages. She have taught as a general music teacher for the last two and a half years in Arizona and in the Indianapolis Public School system.

Best Instruction

Give best instruction to the student by maintaining uninterrupted lesson time, being prepared for each lesson, and differentiating my instruction to accommodate each student.

Preparation

Students will be ready to learn and try new things at each lesson and will treat each lesson time as instructional time.

Practice Guides

Create a practice guide for student and parents to use throughout the week.

Practice

Students will practice at least 20 minutes, four times per week, minimum, and will keep a log of what has been practiced; if a student cannot write, we will create symbols for the student to notate.

Professionalism

Be professional, respectful, and caring towards each student and parent.

Attendance

Parents will always be in attendance and in the room during the lesson. Parents will take notes during the lesson to help throughout the week.

Private Lessons:

Group Lessons:

$25/30 min

Full month payment due at the first lessons of the month.

$5/class

$5 for each child; paid at the beginning of the class, tuition cap of $15 per family
